About

The Department of Art History was separated from the "Art History and Archaeology" department within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and was established in 1997. In 2011, it started to receive master's and doctoral students under the Institute of Social Sciences. In the same year, our department started undergraduate education, and in the 2012-2013 academic year, our second education program was opened. Students are not admitted to our second education program as of 2020-2021 academic year. The total duration of education is 8 semesters. The Department of Art History consists of three departments: Turkish-Islamic Art, Byzantine Art and Medieval Archaeology.
